🚌💙 Thank You, BCES Bus Drivers! 💙🚌

At Barbour County Elementary School, we know that learning starts long before the first bell rings—and it begins with YOU.

Our bus drivers are the first smiles our students see in the morning and the last smiles they see in the afternoon. You keep our Jaguars safe, show patience and kindness, and make a difference in the lives of our students every single day.

Because of you, our students arrive ready to learn and return home safely. That is no small task. That is a calling.

From all of us at BCES—students, staff, and families—thank you for your dedication, your care, and your commitment to our school community.

🐾 You are driving our future forward.

🗽💙 Jaguar Scholars Learning About Leadership! 💙🗽

Our Jaguars had an exciting and meaningful experience at the Libby Liberty™ Super Citizen Program kickoff in Eufaula! This high-energy event helped students explore civic responsibility, financial literacy, and strong character while learning what it means to be a true leader in their community.

One of the most powerful moments came as our students identified their own local heroes:
⭐ Ms. Ferrell’s 2nd grade class proudly selected Ms. Day
⭐ Ms. Ortego’s 2nd grade class honored Ms. Wilson

These choices show that our students recognize greatness right here at Barbour County Elementary School!

We are building more than learners. We are developing thoughtful, responsible citizens who understand the value of leadership and service.

🌎💙 Jaguar Pride in Action! 💙🌎

Ms. Slaughter’s class at Barbour County Elementary School stepped up to make a difference as they celebrated Earth Day! Our young Jaguars took time to care for their environment by picking up litter around the school grounds and showing what responsibility and teamwork look like in action.

We are proud to see our students learning that even small acts can make a big impact. This is how we build strong leaders and a brighter future for our community!

📚✨ BCES Students had a BLAST! ✨📚

What a way to end the last day of our Read Across America Week. Our students were full of excitement as they opened their brand-new books from Books Are Fun! Smiles, laughter, and curiosity filled the room as each student discovered the stories waiting for them inside their free books.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and supported this effort to help put books into the hands of our students. Your generosity helps inspire a love of reading and learning that will last a lifetime.

Thank you for investing in our students and their future! ❤️📖

✨ Celebrating Black History at Barbour County Elementary! ✨

Last month, our students proudly celebrated Black History Month with a special program honoring culture, history, and community. We were honored to welcome guest speakers Brittany Grant, Tonya Porter, and Yashica Smith, who shared inspiring words with our students.

Our talented students shined throughout the program. The Kindergarten class performed the song “Stand Up,” while First Grade sang “I Love Who I Am.” Students from other grade levels also participated by leading the Pledge, a Moment of Silence, and the Introduction of the Divine 9, highlighting the rich legacy of historically Black Greek-letter organizations.

The program also featured an exciting performance by a student dance team, and members of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. from Troy University energized the audience with a powerful step performance.

We are grateful to the families, staff, and program committee who came out to support and celebrate our students. It was a wonderful day of learning, pride, and community! 💛🖤
