Barbour County Intermediate School Vision Statement
The vision of Barbour County Intermediate School is for all stakeholders to be committed to developing the whole child by providing a nurturing and safe environment that fosters a rigorous academic and technological curriculum that will prepare students to become productive citizens and future leaders.
Faculty members will hold high expectations for our students and themselves and also collaborate and create an open line of communications with all stakeholders.
Students will take an active role in their education; be respectful, persevere and appreciate learning opportunities. Students will also take responsibilities for their actions and for their education to maximize their potential and prepare for a successful transition to middle school.
Parents will be active participants in the education process and a welcomed part of the school culture and community.
Barbour County Schools plans to resume in-person classes on Monday, January 10, 2022. Parents, we understand the stresses and inconvenience of school closures. The closure this week was due to our inability to safely reopen because of the surge of COVID19 infections among our employees, which resulted in a lack of staffing. The safety of our students and employees is our priority. Please continue to be patient with us as we navigate these difficult times. Again, provided that we have enough employees to be released from quarantine, Barbour County Schools plans to reopen for in-person classes on Monday, January 10, 2022. Please stay tuned for further announcements.
All faculty and staff are invited to join together in the cafeteria on Wednesday, December 15th at 3:45 pm for a special time of fun, fellowship, and food! Desserts will be provided by a representative at World Classroom. Just bring your appetite. Dinner will be provided.
