Principal Baggage

Mr. Carlos Baggage - Principal

Mr. Carlos Baggage is the new Principal of Barbour County Intermediate School. Mr. Baggage has served ten years in public education; before a career in education, Mr. Baggage worked in the business sector. He served in Georgia and Alabama as a special education teacher, business and computer science and history teacher, assistant principal, and acting principal.  Mr. Baggage is a native of Alexander City, AL. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance from Columbus State University, Masters of Arts in Teaching, Special Education from Georgia College and State University, and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Georgia College and State University, and he is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama. Mr. Baggage is a member of the Council for Leaders in Alabama and the National Education Association. Mr. Baggage created a mentoring program-Brotherhood Academy, that educates and empowers young men to become responsible and strong leaders in their communities. He is married to Tamika Haynes- Baggage, who is also an educator.  Mr. Baggage actively serves his local church as Sunday School Superintendent and as an ordained minister at the Philippians Church of God in Christ.
