Principal's Corner
Mr. Phillip Brooks - Principal

I am honored to serve as the principal of Barbour County Intermediate School. I am looking forward to an impactful school year filled with many successes for our faculty, staff, and students.
I am a proud graduate of Alabama State University with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice and a Masters in both General Counseling and Special Education. I earned a certification in Instructional Leadership at Auburn University, Montgomery.
I have several years of experience in public education as a Special Education teacher, coach, and assistant principal. I have a sincere passion for supporting at-risk students. In 2016, I founded a nonprofit youth center for males- “Peace on the Streets Tutoring and Training Center”. I recently received the 2022 Harriet Tubman Award dedicated to African American males who impact positive change in their communities.
I am a dedicated member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc and a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. I am happily married to Myeshia Brooks and am a blessed father to my incredible kids.
I am a firm believer of making a change by being the change. I am ready to make a difference in the lives of the students of Barbour County.
